Trusting God's Promises: The Disciples Respond
In a spirit of thankfulness and joy we will affirm our Mission and Core Values as they will have been adopted on the previous Sunday. The two Services will bracket a special congregational event in Heritage Hall at the 9:45 hour.
8:30 worshipers are asked to plan an extra Sunday morning hour by staying-on for the 9:45 program and fellowship period. 11:00 worshipers are encouraged to arrive at 9:45 and join-in the Heritage Hall gathering. "When the Saints Go Marching In" will appropriately accompany the processions to/from the sanctuary.
Homilist for the Day will be Pr. Stanley Peterson, who has helped move us through rocky times. Pr. Rudolph Mueller of the synod staff will be with us a Eucharistic Presider. In the Prayers of the Day we will thank God for the healing that has come thus far, ask blessings and support for all who have been hurt, and give thanks for those who diligently have led us through difficult times. As it will be All Saints' Sunday, worshipers will also contribute to the prayers the names of loved ones who died in the faith over the past year or so.
Between now and November 3rd you will be hearing from our Stewardship leaders so that on that day you can be prepared to offer to God your statements of intentions for support and service in 2003.
The Offertory Hymn was written by the Junior High youth of the congregation of the congregation, with the assistance
of Christine Howlett:
(to the tune of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing)
Thank you Lord for your great blessings,
for your gifts of endless love;
Thank you for your understanding
reaching down from heav'n above
Let us praise you for your glory
while we follow in your way;
Thank you Father for your mercy
which you grant us everyday
