Everyone is invited to the St. Paul Catholic Center, 1413 E. 17th at 7:00 p.m. for an Interfaith Prayer Service for Peace in Iraq. This will occur the day following the official "transition" in Iraq. The service is sponsored by the TriParish Peace and Justice Group of the three Bloomington Catholic parishes.

TRAILBLAZERS (Grades 7-9) at Lutheran Hills

A week geared for young teens entering grades 7-9, involving more advanced activities and more individual choice than for younger campers. Activities included: Bible study, canoe/hiking trips, swimming, a cookout/campout, campfire programs, and special evening activities. $225.

Sr. High Servant Camp at Lutheran Hills

A Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon camp week that includes familiar camp activities with a "servant" theme. High school campers will assist with Habitat-For-Humanity type Humanity service projects in the Lutheran Hills area and with general on-site camp property projects. Participants must be entering grades 10-12. $225.

GUITAR CAMP (Grades 6-12) at Lutheran Hills

A week for beginning guitarists who want to learn to play their favorite camp songs, refine guitar skills, or simply want to learn playing the guitar for the first time. Along with the usual great camp activities, participants spend three hours daily in class. Luke Simpson, professional musician, will lead the program and be assisted by other LOM guitar-playing summer staff. Participants will take home a personal copy of the LOM camp songbook, give a guitar concert at a local nursing home, and play a concert for family members prior to Friday afternoon pickup on July 16th. $225.

Retired Group Service Project: We are completing the menu plans for serving two meals at Lutheran Disability Ministries HandyCamp at Lutheran Hills on August 14th. Volunteers are needed to either prepare some of the items on the menus, or provide funds to purchase items. If you are interested in the latter, you may write a check payable to St. Thomas, entering "LDM Service Project" on the memo line, or place cash in an envelope labeled "LDM Service Project." A spiritual gathering for Christian women, Come to Jesus Now, will be held at the Lima, Ohio, Holiday Inn. This is a periodic ecumenical event hosted by the Women of the ELCA from the six synods of Region 6 (Indiana/Kentucky, Northwestern Ohio, Southern Ohio, Northeastern Ohio, South East Michigan, North/West Lower Michigan). Pastor Vicki Garber, a nationally known retreat leader and senior pastor at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Crestview Hills, Kentucky, plans to enliven participants by combining sacred time with ordinary events.

Cost is $35 registration, $79 rooms, $20 banquet. Contact the Church Office if you are interested. Registration deadline is July 1.

XYZ Day is the annual gathering of senior citizens from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Lutheran Hills program includes morning Bible study, a noon luncheon, and the Lutheran Hills Performing Arts Camp final performance at 2:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the Indiana-Kentucky Synod Committee on Older Adult Ministry and is FREE to senior citizens and their guests.
