Special thanks to members of the brass ensemble for the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services: Phil and Lissa May, trumpets; Kari Isaacson, horn; Dave Pavolka, trombone; and David Constantine, timpani.

This morning's organ prelude, Resurrection by Larry King, was written in 1981 and portrays four aspects of the resurrection using modern, but accessible musical idioms.

LAMENT combines the liturgical mourning of the plainsong Vinea me electa (O my vineyard, I planted and tended thee..and thou hast prepared a cross for thy Savior) with an expression of contemporary grief. THE RISING grows quietly from this grief, using twelve-tone rows and techniques to express its cosmic nature. THE ECSTACY develops an alleluia strin with embellishments not unlike those used in the music of Age of Aqarius. REFLECTION combines the liturgical rejoicing of the plainsong Introit for Easter Day, Haec dies (This is the day which the Lord has made) with the alleluia fragments.

It is hoped that the music conveys a fresh vision of the historic resurrection of Jesus Christ with a prayer for the resurrection of the consciousness that reflects and implements his ministry.

IU students and friends are invited to Rose House following the 11:00 a.m. service for a traditional Easter Dinner. We'll begin the meal at about 1:00 p.m.

Building Committee meets at 7:00 p.m.

Lutheran Campus Ministry students are invited to help hand out "Finals Survival Kits" at Forest Quad tonight at 6 p.m. Sarah said they can do it by themselves, but she wanted to let you all know in case anyone else had any interest in being there to help out. Sounds like she has already gotten some inquiries from students in response to some fliers she posted.

The handing out should go quickly, since there are just 100 bags and it will be around dinner time. So, if you are available, feel free to head over to the lobby area at Forest and help make the day of 100 fellow students. (And if you don't already know Sarah, just look for a bunch of white plastic bags and introduce yourself - she'll be happy to have you). For those of you planning to attend bible study at 7:30, it'll be a super quick walk from Forest to the Rose House.
