Today's Adult Forum focuses on a potential project for our global missions initiative. In 2006 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank for its revolutionary project that created economic and social development from below.

Typically the poorest of the poor in the world are unable to find their way out of poverty because of a total lack of resources. Yunus decided that providing micro loans to individuals to start small businesses would help many more people, and especially women, to be able to pull themselves out of their desparate situations. Over the last 30 years, the Grameen Bank has helped more than 100 million families. We now have an opportunity to provide our own micro loans to people through an online organization that would help us select and sponsor our own businesses.

We thank Andrea Boudra for her ministry in music while Andy Kotylo is away this weekend and next. Andrea is a doctoral student at IU and a regular worshipper at the early service here. We also thank Linsey Rogers for providing offertory music at the early service today. An undergraduate majoring in viola performance at IU, Linsey has both played viola and sung during worship here during the past year. This morning she plays the organ, further demonstrating her considerable musical versatility!

Second Annual LCM Campus Cornhole Championship fundraiser in the Indiana Memorial Union. This year's proceeds will be donated on behalf of the same cause — pediatric AIDS — though to a new foundation this year — Keep a Child Alive. Last year's event raised $1500 for the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation. The fundraiser was truly a signature event of LCM's calendar last year, and we hope for the same result again this year.

ECHO, headquartered on a demonstration farm in North Fort Myers, Florida, provides seeds, information, training and networking for agricultural workers in over 180 countries around the world. We plan to raise funds by having a bake sale/plant sale in the narthex on May 11 and 18, with a goal of raising $400. Thrivent Financial will supplement $1 for every $2 raised. Please come to the forum with your ideas for making the fundraiser a success.
