The Sanctuary is gradually darkened as the hymn comes to its end.

Worshipers are invited to silently say the Apostles' Creed and the Lord's Prayer as the seven candles are removed from the altar.

A loud noise follows removal of the seventh light. This is the sound of death being defeated in the darkness of early Easter morning.

A single light, a sign of Resurrection Hope, returns to part the darkness.

Trinity Episcopal, together with a few other groups, has decided to sponsor a Sunday afternoon feeding ministry. They will be serving a Sunday meal to anyone in the community that is hungry. These meals will be prepared on Saturday afternoons (from 1:00 to 3:30p.m.) and served on the next day from 1 to 4.

They would like to have three or four members from St. Thomas who would be willing to help with this ministry. The dates when Trinity will need help with meals are on the following Saturdays: February 14, March 14, March 28 & April 25. If you would be interested in helping with this ministry please contact St. Thomas Church office 332-5252 or kayehill@stlconline.org.

Salem Lutheran Church, West Alexandria, Ohio, will be hosting an ELCA Lutheran Men in Mission conference from 8:00 a. m. to 2:00 p.m.

Doug Hougen, national director of Lutheran Men in Mission will be key note speaker. Bishop Callon W. Holloway, Jr. will speak, as well as Region Six board member Tom Green, Larry Dowler, and officers from Southern Ohio Synod. Indiana-Kentucky Synod Mens' Director Bill Smith, (husband of Region Six Coordinator Marilyn Smith whose office is at the Lutheran Center in Indianapolis), will be a speaker.

The purpose of the conference is to equip men for outreach and mission through the ELCA Lutheran Men in Mission ministry. Participants will be able to ask questions about current activities and programs, and collect information, and meet representatives from the other synods in Region Six.

The conference begins with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and will finish with a pig roast at 2:00 p.m.

There will be a free will offering to offset the cost.
