Baltimore, March 12, 2003 — In its latest advocacy update Lutheran World Relief offers new information on the challenges the U.S. faces in two areas of foreign aid. For HIV/AIDS, although U.S. commitment is growing, strong early funding will save many more lives than the future gradual increases proposed. For the crisis in Colombia, more dollars are needed for programs that build peace. Action by the Congress lies ahead in both these areas that are so relevant to the people that LWR serves overseas.
