Baltimore, September 10, 2003 — The 1,000th brick for the Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza has been reserved in time for the plaza's rededication ceremony, September 27, 2003, at LWR's headquarters in Baltimore. The Women of the ELCA at St. John's Lutheran Church in Piqua, Ohio, made the $500 reservation in August. Their engraved brick will join 999 others on the plaza, which helps to support shipping costs for humanitarian aid from U.S. parishes to people in need overseas.
Parish groups and parishioners are all welcome at the rededication celebration, which will feature worship, music and workshops for meeting other LWR supporters and staff engaged in relief, development and advocacy programs around the world.
