Social Justice

The Social Justic Spirital Growth Group is working toward fulfilling our Lord's mandate to care for the poor, the sick, the hungry, and the prisoner. We strive to educate ourselves about the needs of the world, then become the hands and feet of Christ in the world. (See Matthew, chapter 25.)

Our current focus of action is to team with "Pages for Prisoners," a local charity that sends books to prisoners in 46 states. We are collecting books and money for postage and other expenses. We will continue this focus at least through July 1, 2005.

Each member of the group is likely to be doing something different, as he or she feels called to work in the world. Some of us are interested in political activism; others work with local groups; some are interested in international action. We meet the third Monday of each month for prayer, encouragement, and fellowship.
